FTR retain the Tag Team Championships at AEW Collision

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) retained the AEW World Tag Team Championships by defeating The Workhorsemen (Anthony Henry and JD Drake) at AEW Collision.

FTR defend their titles for the seventh time since taking gold on the April 5 episode of AEW Dynamite, where they defeated The Gunns.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler already have 172 days as champions in their second reign with the company's world tag team titles.

Their next title defense will take place at AEW WrestleDream, where they will face Aussie Open.

Christian Cage wins the TNT Championship at AEW Collision

Christian Cage won the TNT Championship after defeating Luchasaurus and Darby Allin in a triple threat match during AEW Collision.

Luchasaurus and Darby began the match as Cage left the ring to take a seat on a chair. However, Allin blinded Luchasaurus before executing a quick suicide dive on Cage, then taking him back into the ring for a Code Red. Luchasaurus recovered to support his partner and they punished Allin together with the help of a metal chair.

At one point, Luchasaurus hit a wheelbarrow german suplex on Darby, but Cage prevented him from doing the pinfall so he could do it himself. Luchasaurus didn't seem too pleased with the idea, but he followed his mentor's orders. Christian pinfalled Allin, but he escaped from the three count. However, he was still not safe from his rivals, who punished him again inside and outside the ring.

Allin was able to get rid of Luchasaurus and even avoided a spear from Cage before executing a Coffin Drop on his adversaries at ringside, prompting a cheer from the crowd.

Luchasaurus and Allin returned to the ring, where Allin managed to perform a flipping stunner. Christian stepped in, trying to hit Darby with the belt. Allin avoided it and, after that, Luchasaurus performed a chokeslam on Allin before setting his sights on the championship, which he soon picked up from the ground. Cage returned to the ring and approached his partner to order him to hand over the belt.

Despite his initial doubts and the fans' desire, Luchasaurus finally obeyed, at which point Allin attacked Cage from behind, who in turn hit Luchasaurus. Allin picked up the title and used it to hit the champion before performing The Coffin Drop. Allin pinfalled Luchasaurus, but Cage quickly returned to the ring to avoid it. Christian kicked Allin out of the ring and pinned his own partner to become the new TNT Champion.

When the match ended, a smiling Christian hugged Luchasaurus, who did not seem to share his mentor's happiness. Despite this, he decided to lift him on his shoulders while Christian basked in the boos of the fans. After the celebration, both returned backstage, with a Luchasaurus walking with his head down.

Tony Khan felt "physically threatened" by CM Punk

The world of professional wrestling received a great shake in the last hours when All Elite Wrestling announced the firing of CM Punk. A committee outside the company extended the decision a few days after the altercation between The Best in the World and Jack Perry in the backstage at AEW All In London.

Hours after issuing the press release, Tony Khan addressed Chicago fans to inform them of the reasons for his decision. What caught the attention were the words of the president of the company, that it was the first time he feared for his safety in a wrestling show.

CM Punk's firing is not only linked to his aforementioned altercation with Jack Perry. Tony Khan felt "physically threatened" trying to convince the wrestler to come to his senses to carry out his match.

As Tony Khan explained to the public, a legal team was the one who unanimously recommended termination of the contract. The final decision was made by the AEW president, who decided to lean towards what was mentioned by his defenders.

On the other hand, the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery David Sazlav was informed of this firing before the official statement was released.

The possibility that CM Punk returns to WWE remains open

CM Punk is not part of All Elite Wrestling anymore. The veteran wrestler was fired yesterday and the company confirmed the news through an official statement and a speech by Tony Khan, who also made an appearance before AEW Collision to explain what happened.

The dismissal has been a hotly debated topic in recent hours and the details about his departure have been scrutinized closely. One of those who has spoken the most is Dave Meltzer, a journalist for Wrestling Observer. In his last radio program, Meltzer has assured that he will give more information about what happened over the next week, although he has pointed out that several people from the company have indicated that CM Punk not only pounced on Tony Khan, but that there was something else that led to the firing.

While discussing what happened and Punk's future with Bryan Alvarez, Meltzer did not rule out the possibility of CM Punk being hired by WWE. According to Meltzer, CM Punk wanted to return to WWE 10 months ago, which coincided with his hiatus from All Elite Wrestling, around November or December, a few weeks after his backstage fight at AEW All Out.
