WWE's next premium event will take place in Saudi Arabia. Heading into Crown Jewel, Triple H introduced a Diamond Championship that will be put on the line at the show, where the champions of each brand will face each other.
The announcement was controversial, given the reputation WWE has gained in recent years by working in the Middle Eastern country. Many fans pointed out that the belt announcement seemed forced in terms of influence on programming, and in some ways it is.
WWE signed its multi-million dollar deal with Saudi Arabia in 2018. This deal was part of a long-term partnership with Saudi Arabia's General Sports Authority, which included hosting multiple WWE events in the country as part of Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" initiative, aimed at diversifying its economy and promoting entertainment.
WWE Crown Jewel will take place on November 2 from the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh.
