Although it was a PPV that was entertaining, there were still some things that didn't quite convince me, like the women's tag team match and the first person eliminated in the men's Elimination Chamber. What did the event have in store for us? Let's take a closer look.
Women's Elimination Chamber
The really attractive thing about this fight was the beginning, with the return of Jade Cargill to destroy Naomi in front of the participants, especially in front of Bianca Belair who suffered too much for her friend, not to mention Liv Morgan who, taking advantage of the situation, approached Bianca to make fun of her.
(Yes, I'm a fucking sadist.)
Well, let's move on to the fight itself: very well developed in all aspects. Roxanne Perez is very talented and has a great future, there's no doubt that she's the "prodigy".
Bayley was also good, but I'm tired of seeing her everywhere. I've always been against overexploiting the use of veterans to supposedly "increase" the popularity of young talent. There is no need for that, one must shine with one's own light.
Another great moment was the whipping that Bianca gave Liv with her braid. It even hurt me.
In the end Bianca won and we'll see her face Rhea (zzzz). But the appearance of Iyo Sky made me lose sleep, I hope this turns into a triple threat and I can see Sky as the new champion.
Women's Tag team Match
Boring. You could easily see this match on any Smackdown show.
Kevin Owens vs. Samy Zayn
Excellent. Brutal. They found everything: chairs, tables, hockey sticks, barbed wire. They slaughtered each other but it was KO who prevailed in the end.
And another surprise was not long in coming: when it seemed that Owens was going to apply a Piledriver on Zayn's unprotected neck, Randy Orton appeared to basically confirm that we will see an Orton vs Owens at Wrestlemania.
Recommended match.
Men's Elimination Chamber
It started off very calmly, at a slow pace, but as more wrestlers entered, things got better.
This is where another problem I have begins: the elimination of Drew McIntyre. Make no mistake, I'm not upset about the elimination itself, what I'm upset about is that, once again, Drew loses like a bitch. He has the build to be a dominant wrestler and the company insists on treating him like any other jobber.
Anyway, John Cena wins with a little help from Seth Rollins (the fact that he took advantage of this kind of opportunity told me that something was not right).
John Cena's Turn Heel
It's funny what happens with John Cena: since he became champion in 2005, the vast majority of the public had been clamoring for his heel turn, but it never happened, not even at the time when Cena was perhaps the most booed wrestler. I have to admit that, when The Rock appeared on Smackdown a few days ago with the idea of buying Cody Rhodes' soul, it seemed very poor to me. But now, seeing the next chapter of this story, I'm looking forward to seeing how it all continues.
The next few weeks will tell us whether this is a great story or something that was wasted.
